I choose to see my life as a series of celebrations - of life, with new births, of death, knowing my destiny in heaven, of what my child can do and not what he cannot do yet, of sacrifices and pains and treating each incident as a learning experience.

I've started work!
February 15 was my first day of work, back to school teaching at Springdale primary. During the week of Chinese New year, I had an interview on Friday, and the phone call came to engage me that afternoon, next Monday, I report to school for work as flexi adjunct teacher.
I was pleasantly surprised with my time table, teaching English in a P1 class. It's kind of perfect as English is my favourite and most confident teaching subject and better because my little princess is in P1 too, and i will know almost exactly what she's learning at her school.
Springdale is about 200m walk away from NanChiau and the distance is good enough for me to drop off the kids at front gate and swing over to mine for work, and I knock off at 1pm, enough time for me to start the fire for any lunch cooking, pick them up at 130 and kids continue to enjoy home cooked lunch. All in all, praise God for the principal's understanding for my unique situation- caring for the needs of my kids, and still able to do something meaningful at work.
Everything went quite well for the first month except that I took one day off resulting in zero incentive payout by the end of term of one month contract. Later did I realised that I have to fulfill the minimum requirement of work hours for the entire term I'm engaged in, so I had $100 less because 'hours not enough'.
For the new term of 10 wks, the incentive pay out is even more, $550! And I thought I almost had to forfeit it again because princess has ballet exam on a thursday morning! Thankfully, there are friends to help - Aunty Andrea helped pick her up and fed her lunch while dad only managed to drop her off.
I also had an incident with a parent, apparently I was rude to her on the phone, and she was so unhappy she had to barge into the VP office. That was one ugly episode. I never had any parent walk in and complain like that ever! Then because I was stressed out over that incident, I made a mistake doing any activity with the children and under counted some slices of bread causing inconvenience to one class. Sigh, it was quite a week at school.
I think i still enjoy my class and enjoy going to work every morning. I was telling my hot mamas, that one of the best part of coming to school, is an airconditioned office to work in, well, i have to be in class part of the time, but with those huge fans, unless you're hot on your kids, then you can feel pretty happy and cool too.
