God was faithful leading us to VS right from the start. It was the first school we went for open house when Nate was P5. And in fact, we thought of that school even before we decide to buy the house at waterfront. Both of us just had a good feeling about the school for our Son, and we are thankful that the lord’s leading was clear cut for us, down to the aggregate score he had for PSLE, comfortable enough to enter for O’levels programme at VS.
And after about almost one full semester had ended, he has enjoyed school life. He failed one or two tests , did well for some other subjects, he has grown independence, and takes responsibility for his own learning and improvement. I’m totally hands off, except for reminding him to clear his homework and learn Chinese spelling. I’m Glad he has found friends in his class too, and even a couple of Christian ones, a great Christian biology teacher and form teacher. I hope he continues to work hard and does well for his year end exams.
He has taken an interest in singing pop songs, influenced by school, we came out with a song related to ‘alarm clock’, he has cooked some delectable meals and brought them home for tasting like shepherd pie, pasta and burgers. I see him taking an interest to another level for me subjects introduced at the Sec level and appreciate our education system even more, diversifying learning and broadening their horizon to beyond languages, Math or Science.
