Talk 1 to 6
The importance of image- image at creation and bondage at the fall
Image at creation- utility, beauty, glory
Bondage at the fall- brokenness, hiddenness, weakness
Created in God’s image:
God meant for us to have dominion over the animals and all living creatures and be fruitful and multiply.
We should work with all our hearts for God. Do housework to glorify god and obey parents. Do homework properly.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made to serve God.
Rev 4v11 tells us that God is worthy to receive glory and honour and power, for he created all things and by his will they existed and were created.
We can give thanks to god for a specific talent and skill we have or how good and smart we are. We should remember that all these things are God given.
Our bondage to sin:
A system of self redemption
According to Romans 1:18-20, it said that God’s divine nature was clearly perceived against our ungodly, unrighteousness and wickedness.
Verse 21 to 23 says that For although they knew God, they did not honour him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of God for images resembling mortal man and kbirds and animals and creeping things.
Pride leads to rejection of God. Not glorifying him leads to idolatry.
The more dangerous thing than being blind to sin is when God gives you over to sin.
We live in a world of broken glass. We are tempted to do evil t others every day and we reject God even though we know him.
We were meant to reflect the image of God. We were meant to rule over the earth instead of it ruling over us. We are now shattered remains of what Jesus meant for us to be.
Christ redemption: Christ died for us while we were still sinners, he sacrifice himself so that we may be forgiven and live in heaven. So now, we should focuseqour efforts to tell people about Jesus so that they too will turn to Jesus and be saved.
