Fun in the kitchen

I started the week good, having fresh energy and ideas...

Before the cooking started, I needed to check what I had in store - I had my flour, oats and other essentials, and oatmeal cookies, here we go. Now that I have two dg groups to share my delight, I wouldn't waste anything. The thing about baking is, I want to see people enjoy my products, like any other creations. You don't want to 'throw away' what you have painstakingly made with sweat and strength.

The evening dg mates were kind, they loved it. A healthy snack to end the night.

Wednesday, Boy had no school. The sun was smiling, and we decided to go to the zoo. Oh, but we made some banana pancakes for breakfast ! Yummy, he helped to scoop the batter and even tried flipping the pancakes over. He had fun.

He fed the giraffes and goats. We were late for the elepphants. The animals of interest to him that morning were snakes and manatee ... he stood at those enclosures for a long time. We were disappointed the waterplay was closed for maintenance. But we walked alot, and had fun anyway. It's really how you want to make your day - stay sad, or be happy about it.

Came thursday, Boy fell sick with stomach flu and fever... wanted to cheer him up, I dug up more flour and made some colourful playdough. We had a wonderful time kneading and patting our creations - from dinosaurs to sea creatures and insects in the garden. Boy loved making his pancakes ... and putting eyes and smiles to every single thing he made - what a good spirit he has in him.

Those fun didn't make his sickness go away, he felt sick and weak, and he kept saying he didn't like to be sick. We prayed a couple more times these two days.
