Primary One 2020

After a break for 2 months stay at home, I'm finally back at work. I started on 1 July, a wednesday. After first 3 days of school, was extremely tired, I think my body needs some time to adjust to my new routine, early wake, rushed breakfast, hasty preparation of lunch and dashed out of the house and be in school by 7am to fetch the kids from the canteen.

This P1 class is rather sweet. I received quite a few little gifts from a couple of them, like folded origami boat, fan etc. I see that they are very interested in cutting and craft and folding origami, quiet and focused activity. Thinking of how I can develop that interest a bit more in the next few weeks.

There are mixed abilities. Most of them are independent and competent and understand instructions quite well, some outstanding ones who are alert and always have their eyes on me. I put in place a few rules and they are trying to keep up with them.

One boy is alittle loud and active, but he is also very adorable. Hope I can get his cooperation soon as I get to know him better.

Half of my colleagues are sitting in a separate room which makes asking about things alittle tougher. And level meetings are all zoom, so I really dont meet them at all physically. Some colleages hi and bye, and some stop for a longer conversation. Besides my longer time spent in the classroom, I really hope to have spare time to chit chat with adults too.

I hope I get to stay for the rest of the yr, but who knows, VP doesn't want to guarantee me anything as yet and there seems to be plausible changes up her sleeves I m afraid.
