CDC Phuket Thailand 22-26 December

It was a last minute decision, but we were glad we made it, and even encouraged another family in our dg to join us- Charis and family. we had 2 days of work effectively, a day with the Burmese children and a day with the Thai kids. we were just asssiting the teachers in their activities, giving extra pairs of hands,and contributing to the costs of the events, like goodie bags which included blankets, tidbits and stationery. Jason Goh, the man who had the vision given by the Lord started this centre in 2005, the number of kids has grown, money has been poured in to build a working and training kitchen, another hostel building was built. God has multiplied what he began. My personal take home is listening to the life stories of the trippers, Jason himself, what it means to him to follow Christ by trusting and obeying. Meeting XY, who briefly shared how he became a christian and what it means from now on, giving up possession and following God's heart beat, and Lynn and Tee Wei, listening and following God's direction in opened and closed doors. we also met one American family, the eldest if 12, and the youngest, 10 months old, charlie, canon, branch, hadem and jovie. We'll keep praying for them, for the Lord's protection, providence and joy to serve the people in Thailand. They have been there 6mths, kids are making friends, being home schooled, serving and building the church community. For our family, it was quite and eventful one. nathan started having fever on day 2 of oir trip, stuffy nose and cough. LC mastercard had fradulant transactions, also found out on the second day, the bank called him and alerted him, card was stopped in time, but some 3-4k had been transacted. We lost our small cabin sized luggage bag on scoot flight on our way home. At this point, we're not sure if the money and lost luggage will be revovered, but we pray, took the necessary steps, and simply trust God and all will be well. There's always a first time for everything. And we deinitely have our first encounter of several mishaps. 3 days upon return, it's girl's turn to be down with fever. She's sad she's gonna miss her Basic social, and opportunity to play guitar for a worship service. Trust and obey indeed. Serve the Lord with gladness and let our hearts rejoice. The Lord is good, and his love endures forever.
