Lately, Girl's favourite phrase is 'I know'. And sometimes, it really gets on my nerves and truly trying my patience when she says that. Dad can't stand her when he brought her to the park the other day. She insisted on riding her bike her way and refused to be pushed along. She was terribly slow - her short chubby legs slowly moving along on the ground. Dad and brother had a good sun tan from waiting for her.
But I thought that's how we as new creation believers often react towards God. He is supposed to be King of us and Lord over everything we have, but we find ourselves often telling him - I know better, Lord. I want it my own way.
Refusing God's authority over us and be little kings ourselves end us up in utter destruction, in fact, death in hell ultimately. But by his Grace, he redeemed us and gave us each a chance to say, 'Yes Lord, be my king.'
Let us continue to acknowledge that we cannot and will not live lives our own way, but choose God's way will save us and lead us to live good lives.
