Spiritual milestone

Nathan is still doing his devotion everyday after his lunch, before his nap. But recently, he's so engrossed in reading his dragon book during lunch that he over shot the time needed to do his devotion. I give him an hour of nap from 3-4pm, and then work till 6. He minded his nap so much, he would skip his devotion. Recently, he was reluctant to pray at bedtime. Dad and I have talked seriously with him, and we hope he changes his mind, and want to pray, on his own soon. Dad think praying should not be 'forced' on the child, but I insisted on him praying whether he like it or not, I complied with dad's decision in the end, cos he's the spiritual head, anyway. I hope it's just a phase he's going through. I feel i'm still trying to understand him, his mood swings, awh, i don't like them. But he is a boy of habits, and I pray that his good habit of doing deviotion will not stop. He's growing up yr by yr, I hope the reading of the Bible will enlarge his mind and more importantly, his heart, to long for Jesus to be his personal Lord and friend. The decision to follow christ is a personal one, we can only try our best to shepherd and guide, but God needs to do a deeper work to convict him and reveal to him. Bible is full of stories, not just people with their experiences, but God's big story of saving us from eternal death and punishment. I pray my children will see that for themselves.
