Desaru Dec 2014

A holiday we have been waiting for! We travelled with 3 other families to Desaru on christmas day at early dawn. Despite the early wake, we were still stuck at causeway for more than an hour, before we could drive into JB. Our first stop was fishball and you dao fu noodles. I liked it. Every one was tired and sleepy after the long drive and wait so we didn't explore much on day 1. Checked in hotel, some took a nap, had seafood lunch, then kids had a great splash in the pool with a slide. A slide was all they need to play at the pool for over an hour each day! From the youngest Emma at 19months, to the oldest at 9 yrs, they took turns to slide down, and they also created their own games at the slide. It was really nice to see them playing and making bonds together at play and even meal times, they would chat and giggle and had a lot of fun runninf around and chasing and catching. The adults just ate and ate - crabs and prawns and all kinds of seafood. I found myself eating alot more than i usually would! Stay at the hotel was comfortable, breakfast was reasonable too. The visits to fruit farm, ostrich farm and crocodile farm was eye opening experience. Kids learnt about ostrich and their eggs! There was no tour at the croc farm but looking around at them, kids just wow. Fruit farm was fun for me. Saw many different kinds of fruit trees and herbs and vegetation. There was also a small animal feeding corner = rabbits, goats and an ostrich. We didnt stay late cos of the kids, retired about 1030 each night, but we had a lot of laughters and fun just chatting and relaxing. Im sure the kids, and us, are looking forward to the next trip together, this might just be the start of an annual holiday.
